Seemingly floating on Annecy's Lake , Walden Raft is a dynamic and contemplative experience that offers a space for reflection in reference to Henry David Thoreau's Walden, a novel of the return to nature and environmental awareness. An archetype of the small rustic cabin on the lake, it is both an invitation to reread the landscape and a support object for the projection of one's own utopias.
Conceived between opacity and transparency, Walden Raft is defined as a place of experimentation, a living space, a mobile, floating, sound and light dwelling. The floating, mobile, sound device make this shelter a place that is neither too far away nor too close to the human world. It is an intermediary area, a lookout point, from which someone can see while accepting to be seen. A project for which I took charge of the assembly and launching of the hut alongside the team of the Bonlieu theatre in Annecy.
